The hazelnut was cultivated in Pontos, since ancient times, and was called "Pontikon karuon" meaning "walnut of Pontus". After being harvested and broken into mills, the hazelnuts were divided into three categories: round (tombul), pointed (sibri) and oily (yagli).

  • A handful of hazelnuts, every two days, help in the reception of cardiovascular diseases and in the metabolism.
